A day in Life Quest

This is the screen you live in. Tick things off, watch the bar fill. Everything else folds away until you want it.

How it works

Four steps, and the fourth is the one that keeps you coming back.

1

Create your hero

Name, class, done. It takes about a minute and there is nothing to sign up for.

2

Turn real life into quests

A run, a chapter, a deep-work session, a difficult phone call. Anything you actually do is worth XP.

3

Collect the loot

Every quest pays XP and gold. Spend the gold in a shop you stock yourself, with treats you genuinely want.

4

Become the character

Every quest feeds a skill. After a few months your sheet is an honest record of where your effort went.

Your skills are the real score

Levels come and go. What lasts is the shape of the character you have built — and it is built from things you genuinely did, not tasks you ticked.

What’s in the game

Every picture below is drawn by the game itself, in code, pixel by pixel.

Quests & missions

One-off tasks, repeating routines, and missions that group several quests into a bigger goal with bonus XP.

Habits & streaks

Good habits earn XP and build a streak. Bad habits cost gold when you slip, and the clean streak starts again.

A reward shop

Spend gold on real treats you price yourself. The economy is yours, so it stays meaningful. Saving up for a bigger one in real money? Stash Route plans the deposits.

Focus timer

A Pomodoro timer that attaches to the quest you are working on and pays XP when the session completes.

Fitness hub

Training splits, personal records and a weight goal on a chart. Switch it off entirely if you do not want it. Need a workout to log? Alea rolls a bodyweight one for you.

Study hub

Courses, assignments, exam countdowns and a timetable. Assignments are quests too, so they pay XP.

Save points

A one-line daily journal with a mood, worth XP once a day. Your months become chapters worth rereading.

Achievements

Milestones unlock as you play, from your first quest to streaks most people never reach.

Private by design, not by promise

Most trackers want the most personal data you have — your moods, your weight, your habits — in exchange for a login. Life Quest does not, because it has nowhere to put it.

No account

Nothing to sign up for. Open the page and you are playing.

No tracking

No analytics, no advertising, no cookies, and not a single third-party script or font.

It stays on your device

Your save lives in your own browser. It is never transmitted, and we could not read it if we wanted to.

Yours to take

Export your whole save to a file whenever you like, and import it on another browser or phone.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. No payment, no trial, no premium tier and no ads. It is a personal project rather than a business.

Do I need an account?

No. There is nothing to sign up for. Your progress is saved in your browser automatically and is there when you come back.

Where is my data stored?

In your browser’s local storage, on your own device. It is never sent to a server. That also means clearing your browsing data will erase it, so export a backup file now and then.

Can I use it on my phone and my laptop?

Yes, though each keeps its own separate save because nothing syncs through a server. Use Export backup on one and Import backup on the other to move your progress across.

How is this different from Habitica?

Habitica is a social, account-based game with parties and a shared economy. Life Quest is single-player and private: no account, no server, no social layer, and an economy you set yourself.

Does it work offline?

The page itself needs to load once from the internet, but your save is local, so nothing depends on a connection while you play.

Your first quest is waiting

About a minute to create a hero, and nothing to undo if you change your mind.
